Karl Byrne (12) of GPMI had the best score (38pts) and won Class 1 at the TABS April outing at Beech Park Golf Club, Rathcoole on Friday last. Sponsored by Westside Press Group the day was spent on an excellent course and in ideal conditions.
A timesheet of 46 members and their guests took part on the day. All 12 winners scored in excess of 31 points with the highest score brought in by guest John O’Kelly who had 42 pts. playing off his 5 handicap.
An excellent meal was enjoyed by the 41 who stayed on for the prize giving and for the usual chat and barracking that is a feature of the good fellowship enjoyed at TABS outings.
Two new members were welcomed to the Society, Ritchie Roe of the Oireachtas and John Kenny of Plusprint.
Next outing St. Margaret’s on May 10.
Spaces are rapidly filling up for the Away Weekend to Enniscrone/ Rosses Point

The TABS Golf Society started its 56th year with the traditional links outing, this year at St. Anne’s Golf Club, North Bull Island, Dollymount. A light sprinkling of rain on the first few 4-balls failed to dampen the spirits of the 38 members and their guests who took played the course.
At the presentation dinner in the clubhouse Captain Declan McGrath welcomed all present and in particular he welcomed the six new members, Karl Byrne, Pat Fitzgerald, John Keating, Niall Halligan, Robert Nagle and Brendan Flanagan.
The Captain thanked outgoing President Joe Murphy and outgoing Captain Dermot Downer for their sterling work which has put the Society in a strong position for the coming year.
The Captain gave special thanks on behalf of all the members to GPMI for their sponsorship of the day.
